The Editorial Board will select a
winner (or winners) for the ALS Young Scholar Award from essays accepted for
publication in 『アメリカ文学研究』or
The Journal of the American Literature Society of Japan. Eligible authors
must be under forty, or they must have obtained their first master's degree in
a field related to American literature no more than 5 years prior to
submission. Winners will be notified by the end of July. They will be presented
with the award, along with a 50,000 yen cash prize, at the Opening Ceremony of the
annual ALSJ Convention.
